North Richland Hills TX - The Fort Worth Christian baseball program is set to shine a little brighter at Keck-Horton Field this season with the installation of LED lights from Musco Lighting. NEMA 3 began the installation process on October 14, 2024 and once complete, this lighting system will be sure to enhance the game-day experience for players and spectators alike.
The new lighting system will feature six state-of-the-art light towers surrounding the playing field, ensuring that every corner is illuminated. This is a significant improvement over the previous metal halide lighting system which often struggled to provide adequate brightness during night games and practices.
LED lights are becoming increasingly popular in sports facilities due to their energy efficiency, longevity and control of light pollution. Additionally, they offer better illumination quality which can enhance players' performance and reduce the risk of injuries caused by poor visibility.
"This new lighting system will make an enormous difference in the overall quality of night games" head coach Rusty Greer said. "With what the data is saying, Keck-Horton Field will be one of the best lit high school baseball fields in Texas, if not the country," Greer added.
The timeline of this project is expected to take roughly three weeks with practices for the Cardinals being minimally affected. The work will primarily take place on the outside of the playing field with minimal disruption to the playing surface itself.
The Fort Worth Christian baseball program continues to strive for excellence, and this upgrade is just one of many steps toward enhancing the facilities and overall experience for players and fans.
Stay tuned for updates as the project progresses and get ready to experience Fort Worth Christian baseball in a whole new light!
