Austen Meiser was the star of the show on Thursday, driving in five runs on four hits to propel Fort Worth Christian to a 14-0 win. Meiser’s contributions came in key moments, including a three-run double in the third.
The bottom of the lineup proved to be a major factor, with Andrew Ridgell, Meiser, and John Stevens combining for nine of the team's 17 hits. They also accounted for three runs and eight RBIs.
Gregory Smeds was stellar on the mound, throwing five shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out eight. The Cardinals were also sharp defensively, committing no errors through the five-inning game.
