Frisco, TX – On Sunday, October 6, the Fort Worth Christian baseball team took part in the heartwarming Keeper of The Game event designed to create meaningful baseball experiences for kids and young adults with special needs. The event embodies the mission of Keeper of The Game: to foster growth and instill a love of baseball in these young athletes while promoting servant leadership in the community.
Keeper of The Game provides a platform for participants to engage in baseball activities tailored to their abilities, allowing them to experience the joy of the game on a personal level. Through a series of stations, games, and interactions with local players, the event builds lasting connections among participants, coaches, and volunteers.
Head coach Rusty Greer shared his thoughts on the significance of the event for his team. “Keeper of The Game is an incredible opportunity for our players to give back to the community,” Greer said. “Seeing our players engage with these kids not only enriches their lives but also deepens their understanding of the impact sports can have on individuals and families.”
Fort Worth Christian’s players also learned invaluable lessons about leadership and service. “Events like this help our players realize that being a good athlete is not just about performance; it’s about lifting others up and being part of something bigger,” Greer added.
Throughout the day, Fort Worth Christian players participated in various activities that allowed them to interact with their peers in a supportive environment. The smiles on the faces of both the volunteers and participants showcased the powerful impact of the event. From playing catch and swinging for the fences, the day was filled with laughter, encouragement, and a shared love of baseball.
