McKinney, TX - The Fort Worth Christian Cardinals battled through a packed stretch of games this past weekend.

The week opened with a dramatic 4-3 win over Reedy. Trailing 3-2 late, the Cardinals came through with a key fielder’s choice that brought home two runs to take the lead for good. Gregory Smeds delivered a solid start on the mound, while the defense backed him up with an error-less performance.

Next up was a dominant 15-2 victory over the Mesquite Skeeters. The Cardinals jumped out to a fast start, scoring seven runs in the first inning alone. Cameron Davidson, Antonio Andujar, and Braylen James led the offensive showcase, with James launching a two-run homer. Maddox Bradshaw and Jeryn Walker combined to hold Mesquite to just two runs, while the defense remained flawless.

Later that afternoon, Fort Worth Christian tied against Plano East 2-2. Braylen James and Griffin Carney drove in the Cardinals’ runs, while David Salas had a strong performance on the mound, striking out four and keeping the game close. The defense continued to shine, playing error-free baseball once again.

The Cardinals’ offense erupted again on Saturday in a 10-3 win over Sherman, powered by a six-run fifth inning. Jake Parkerson highlighted the rally with a three-run homer, while Austen Meiser and Antonio Andujar both had two hits each. Hayden Bargy and Andrew Ridgell took care of business on the mound, limiting Sherman’s offense to just three runs.

The 5 game stretch wrapped up with a tough 2-1 loss to Midlothian Heritage. A sacrifice fly from Parkerson tied the game, but Heritage regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth and held on for the win. Brody Henderson turned in a quality start, and the Cardinals’ defense had no errors.

The Cardinals will be back on the road for their first district matchup against Midland Christian.
