Fort Worth Christian delivered a dominant 9-0 victory over Denison before beating Wylie East 3-2 in a pair of weekend matchups. Both games showcased explosive offense, clutch hitting, and solid pitching.
Against Denison, the Cardinals used a six-run fourth inning to take control of the game. Antonio Andujar and Jake Parkerson delivered key hits, with Parkerson driving in three runs. Jackson Perdue and Braylen James also contributed to the scoring effort. On the mound, Gregory Smeds was stellar, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits.
The battle against Wylie East proved to be a tougher test. Wylie East got on the board first, but Fort Worth Christian answered in the fifth with a fielder’s choice that tied the game.
Jeryn Walker came through in the clutch, ripping a go-ahead two-run double in the sixth. Brody Henderson earned the win, surrendering just one run over five innings, while Griffin Carney locked down the save. The Cardinals played exceptional defense, turning two crucial double plays and remaining error-free.
With these two victories, Fort Worth Christian continues to build momentum and will look to extend its winning streak when they travel to face Reedy on Thursday.
